SECC
- T. Deluca advised the meeting that as at the date of the meeting, registrations for the Shannons Eastern Creek Classic had reached 1,055.
- Area A is now full.
- A debrief was held on 10th February and discussions and suggestions made at the debrief will result in some changes as noted below.
- There will be no refund for unused tickets this year.
- There will be window stickers, which will be colour coded. The change to stickers instead of window cards has been implemented to stop rorting of the system via re-use of window cards, which has occurred in the past and which resulted in complaints from the ARDC. They will be the size of an envelope and MUST be applied to the windscreen before arriving at the event.
- The new stickers will be available at the May meeting. There will be space for Clubs to put their stamp on them.
- Entry forms for the Concours will be available at the May meeting.
- Registrations are increasing every year and as a result it will be necessary to limit the number of cars per club in Area A to 30. This will also assist with the movement of vehicles in and out of Area A for parade laps.
- Cars will be grouped in such a way as to avoid congestion and there will be changes to the manner in which vehicles will be progressed in off the track in order to avoid congestion.
- The allocation of spaces and the map is still in the process of being prepared.
- There are two clubs, who have applied for tickets, who are still unfinancial. Packard Automobile Club and Willys Whippet Overland Restorers.
- Some children's activities are planned for Area D.
- The gate in Area D will be widened to allow for larger cars to progress more easily onto the track for parade laps.
- More volunteers are required for marshalling duties. Names will be taken for this role at the next meeting. Duty hours for volunteers will be staggered.
A Presentation took place by "10 10 10". A Concours D'Elegance Australia is to be held on 10th October 2010, at St Patrick's Seminary, Manly.
- In an attempt to bring the standard of Concours held at Pebble Beach, the "10 10 10" organisation is to hold a Concours d'Elegance Event in Sydney
- The Concours judging will involve 50 vehicles with a further display of 150 classic vehicles.
- Volunteers are required for the event. More information about the event and how to volunteer is on the website at www.101010.com.au.
- Tickets are priced at $75 each. If individuals purchase a ticket through their car club a discount of $5 per ticket will apply.
- The cut-off year for vehicles wishing to apply is 1975.
- The CMC is in the process of providing a link from their website to the "10 10 10" website above.
- Cars eligible for the Concours are listed on the "10 10 10" website. www.101010.com.au Shannon Foundation
- The deadline for receipt of applications is 30th May, but no applications had been received as at 29th March.
- There is approximately $4,000 available to applicants and if only one application is received, then perhaps all of the grant will go to that applicant.
- Past recipients of the grant may also apply if they require further funds to complete their project.
- D. Marshall-Martin advised delegates that he is a member of the New Theatre in Newtown, who are running a fundraising raffle for the theatre. Prizes include a trip to Port Douglas and other items at $5 a ticket.
- A sample application is now on the AHMF website at www.motoring.org.au/
AHMF
- The venue for the 2010 AGM is in Perth.
- The Agenda for the AGM is still in the process of being compiled.
- It was noted that some miscommunication is occurring within the AHMF.
